"My students loved working with you and will always remember these past two weeks as one of the most 'brilliant' experiences of their high school years." (Teacher from a High School in USA) Coranto offers expert knowledge which spans some 600 years. With the implementation of the National Curriculum Key Stages, there has been more focus on the dance from specific areas in history, particularly Mediaeval, Tudors and Victorian.
A class in progress at Semley School, Wiltshire * * * * * Typical Collaborations Your class might be studying other aspects of one of these periods. Coranto would provide a workshop where the dances and music, together with the clothes of the period, would be discussed. The marriage between all elements of society would be illustrated, offering many opportunities for cross-curricular activity ; perhaps some instrumentalists from the class would be able to play for the dancers and a little 'courtly' scene would be established.

You might be the choir director of a school or college in America. Your choir might participate in the Madrigal Dinners and you might like them to learn some of the dances from the Elizabethan period to enhance their performance. Coranto would work with your students, teaching them the necessary technique and dances, together with simple rules of etiquette - e.g. bowing and curtseying - enabling them to give a confident and polished performance. This has been done, with great success.
Some pictures showing the appeal of this type of dance to a diversity of ages. In the photograph above, even the 'tinies' are able to enjoy having a go at a simple Mediaeval dance!
Coranto provides advice on the relevant movement style of your play or opera, using professional choreographers and movement experts.
Coranto's consultants are able to offer tuition on either a one-to-one basis or in class format for students who are undertaking historically-based research projects or degrees. Subjects might include music, dance, theatre or costume.
You may be planning your wedding and looking for an innovative and unusual entertainment for your guests. Coranto is able to offer a variety of programmes which could include an 'historical' cabaret of dance and music suites, together with an opportunity for your guests, led by the Bride and Groom, to enjoy some social dancing with a difference.
